Caves and Cliffs Part 1 (1.17 Update)

Hello all, it's been a little bit, but 1.17 is here and I need to give you all an update on what's going on with the server.

The past few months have been difficult for me personally. Between taking care of sick family members, dealing with school, and normal everyday stuff, I honestly haven't had the time or the drive to work on Endercross much. I'm going to be frank, this will continue for a little while. That's not to say I don't have plans for the server, however before life outside of the server got crazy, all of those plans were based on what is now going to be contained in Caves and Cliffs Part 2. Some things I want to implement are still possible, and as I have more time, I'll be working on adding them, but for now, I'm just going to focus on updating to 1.17 itself.

So, on to the updates. There are a few large changes coming with 1.17 in terms of back-end stuff, like the update to Java 16 from Java 8. Depending on circumstances, this may break some of the legacy...

Added Custom Items, Adminshop, and More!

Ok! It took me a while, but as promised, here's the big update I've been talking about for a while!

You want custom items? We got 'em. Want furniture? Yep, we've got that too. Want custom crops and food? We've got you covered. I've been working on this on the test server with our testers for a while now and I'm finally ready to push it live!

For you to be able to use and see the custom items, you must have resource packs enabled. To do this, simply go to your server list and enable resource packs! If you don't know how, click the button below.

These custom items are called Curiosities, and you can find all of them by using /curiosities.


Changes to Vote Crates

Hello everyone! I've got another update for you today. I've been planning to update the crates and their rewards for a long time, and I finally got around to it today.

First thing first, your existing vote keys will not work anymore. The vote key system has switched to a virtual system, so all you have to do is click the new and improved Smithy (as seen below). I will be adding a method of opening crates without having to go to spawn very soon.

As of now, the rewards are a lot more balanced and there is a little bit less variety, but they're still really good. There are some extremely rare items in there as well that are marked with the Legendary Item moniker. At the moment, there are only tools in the rotation for the vote crates but I'll be adding other items as well as point and money rewards to it as well.

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since the last time I've updated you all on what's going on formally, so I thought I should do so here.

First of all, a small update on the Demolition Timer. The last post outlined the Demolition Timer being enabled, and while it is still enabled, it has been extended to a month. So, if you're inactive for a month, you'll no longer be in a town.

Second, and arguably the bigger announcement, the server now has Alcohol (hooray!). You can brew your own beverages of different strengths in your own breweries, and distribute at will. There are ill effects though, so be warned!

Demolition Timer, Prestige, Tags, and Points

Hello everyone! I've been working on quite a few things behind the scenes and have silently implemented a bunch of things that you should know about. This post covers those things and is broken up into sections so you can pick and chose what to read, but I'd really recommend reading the whole thing as it's all important.

Demolition Timer
The demolition timer is a system that essentially gets rid of inactive players. Essentially, after two weeks of inactivity, a player's "resident" record will be deleted in Towny. This means that you'll lose your town and town blocks. Essentially, if you've been inactive for two weeks and log in after those two weeks, you'll find that you're no longer in a town and that any claims you've had will be removed from your ownership. Changes, Improvements, and Plans!

Hello everyone! As of today, it has been exactly one week since Endercross went fully public. I've been extremely happy with how things have gone and the feedback I've gotten so far. A lot has happened in a week, some of it behind the scenes, some of it not. If you're interested in what's changed, please read below, but for now, I need to announce a few changes formally here!

First and foremost, we have an AuctionHouse now. It's a little experimental right now as it's just been added, and it will require testing, but it is there. As always if you have issues with the plugin, let me know on Discord or here.

As well as that, there are 2 major new features at spawn that you should know about.

The first is the public town teleporter. This portal goes to towns that have chosen to be open to the public. You can see what it looks like in this screenshot:

Welcome to Endercross: Eras, an old school Towny experience run by old school Towny admins.

Right now, we're in very early development in a whitelisted state. As of now, the server is very classic Endercross (and Towny servers in general) with Jobs and mcMMO.
